I must confess that have the balance of an over-indulging drunkard participating in a sobriety test. It’s really that bad, and so the very word ‘snowboarding’ has always translated into ‘neck-breaking’ for me.

It’s because of this that I find the Nintendo balance board such a handy peripheral. It’s large enough to not have to literally balance on, whilst being sleek enough to sneak it out of the way when it’s not being used. And now because of Shaun White snowboarding, I’m able to take to the slopes without the risk of injury – it’s darn sight warmer indoors at the moment too.

As well as using the balance board, players are required to use the remote simultaneously to have their on-screen boarder pull off some gnarly moves. But if you don't own a balance board, worry not, for movement can all be controlled using just the remote.

Players are whisked away on a snowboarding tour around the world, rising through the ranks with the ultimate goal to become the number one snowboarder in the world.

As with most snowboarding games, play is divided into two styles, racing and tricks. Racing is simply a race to the finish line whilst the trick portion is an opportunity to accumulate as many points as possible.

Multiplayer is possible, but don't get your mates to bring around their balance boards quite yet as only one can be used at a time – the others will need to use the remotes.
