As Halloween creeps round the corner, ODEON fans were given the chance to vote for their favourite scary film of all time, to be screened at select* ODEON cinemas this Halloween. The Evil Dead slashed the competition to come out on top as the UK’s favourite scary film and horror film fans can catch the cult classic, which was produced and directed by Sam Raimi, this Friday as part of ODEON’s Freaky Friday.

The Evil Dead is an American horror film that was first released in 1981 and revolves around an ancient Sumerian text, the “Book of the Dead” which wreaks havoc upon a group of five vacationing college students staying in a woodland cabin in Tennessee. Fans of the classic horror film can catch it on Friday night at the following ODEON cinemas: ODEON Manchester Printworks, ODEON Southampton, ODEON Greenwich, ODEON Kingston, ODEON Liverpool One and ODEON Norwich.

Tickets are available to book now and start at only £6.66 when booked online, this is the perfect evening out for those looking for something particularly terrifying this fright night.

Andy Edge, Commercial Director commented: “We wanted to be able to offer horror film fans a little extra as part of ODEON Freaky Friday and after two weeks of voting The Evil Dead pipped other classics such as Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday The 13th to the post and is the chosen title to give film fans a fright this Halloween.”
