THE Lightning Seeds are the latest big name to be added to the bill for this summer’s Wickham Festival.

The Liverpool band, who have had 12 top 20 hits in the UK, will join an exciting line-up which includes international superstar James Blunt as well as Steve Earle and the Dukes and Bellowhead at the hugely popular family festival.

Ian Broudie’s line-up, whose hits include Pure, Perfect, Lucky You, Life of Riley and the football anthem Three Lions, will headline on Friday, August 15, alongside the Oyster Band.

It is another coup for the rapidly- emerging event, and organiser Peter Chegwyn said: “We are delighted to have secured the Lightning Seeds to complete our list of headline acts.

“They have a string of hits which fans will know and love and they are perfect for the Friday night. Being able to attract artists of this calibre shows just how far this festival has come.

“Having James Blunt as our major headline act on the Thursday night has really put Wickham on the map and established this festival as a major event on the south coast calendar.”

There will be a wide range of entertainment and facilities for children as well as bars, craft stalls, top quality food outlets and camping facilities for the event which also includes Hazel O’Connor, Hugh Cornwell, Martin Barre of Jethro Tull and Neville Staple from the Specials and Fun Boy Three.
