JUST in time for Independence Day, two of the UK’s best Americana acts will be playing a ‘Chapel Session’ on Wednesday at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley.

Headlining will be highlyrespected The Paper Trains, fresh from performing at the Bluebird Café in Nashville and The Cavern Club in Liverpool.

The other half of this double bill is Bluegrass influenced Wood Wire and Words.

Coincidentally, both acts are trios and both made up of husband and wife, plus wife’s father.

They follow in a long line of celebrated artists who have played a Chapel Session, a venue which is quickly gathering a reputation as a great night for hearing the best musicians in an acoustically acclaimed location.

Previous international artists include: from New York – Nell Bryden; Nashville – Jenn Bostic; Portland, Oregon – Tony Furtado.

And from the UK: rising stars such as Emma Stevens and Daisy Chapman and most recently from Sussex, concert guitarist Richard Durrant who has just completed a cycling-music tour of the UK raising funds for a cancer therapy centre.

Chapel Sessions is a community- led, not-for-profit music series curated by John and Sonja Davison.
