FRESH from their Glastonbury success Southampton rockers Band of Skulls will release a new record this weekend.
The Hoochie Coochie EP – out on Sunday comes off the back of their critically lauded third album Himalayan, which was released earlier this year.
Its lead single, the eponymous Hoochie Coochie, is gloriously, sleazy glam stomp, with Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach adding a powerful crunch.
With a barrage of contagious riffs, Russell Marsden’s falsetto vocals makes it one of the band’s most incessantly catchy songs to date.
The band formed under the name Fleeing New York in 2004 and have since released three studio albums and an EP under the Band of Skulls moniker.
They are currently preparing to play at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival on the August bank holiday weekend, and will headline a home-coming gig at Southampton Guildhall on November 8.
