THE UK’s most popular girl band put on a dazzling display to get the working week off to a glamorous start in Bournemouth.

Skimpy gold, sequinned outfits, killer heels and sparkling white teeth at the ready, The Saturdays went all out to prove they’ve still got what it takes after six gruelling years in the pop business.

They’ve got three kids between them and another on the way, but they can strut their stuff like teenagers and they’re all in great shape.

New Yummy Mummy Frankie is currently in training for Strictly Come Dancing and, if last night was anything to go by, she’ll be holding the famous glitter ball aloft by Christmas.

The sell-out crowd, many glammed up like their idols, lapped it up as the girls breezed through their greatest hits.

The costumes and set changes got better and better, the dancers even played the drums and the audience participation had an almost festive feel about it.

There was a vast age range in the mainly female audience, with some tiny primary school children who would have been toddlers when the Saturdays released their first single, bopping away on their seats.

Joined by big sisters, aunties, mums and grans, they all knew all the words and had a tangible love and respect for those entertaining them.

The Saturdays have had eight top ten hits and sold five million records including All Fired Up, Ego, Forever Is Over and Issues.

And it’s easy to see why they’ve been so successful – they’re good mates, constantly joking with each other.

This is their Greatest Hits tour and there’s been no mention of splitting up. But the girls are busy and pursuing a lot of individual interests, not to mention their everincreasing brood.

By the end of his fun-filled show everyone had had a great night out, but I couldn’t help feeling it could be some time before we see them again.
