AN AMERICAN band from the 1960s which formed when two groups merged are performing at a string of venues in the south in November.
The Stylistics are appearing at Eastleigh’s Concorde on Friday and two weeks later at the Pavilion in Bournemouth.
The group was formed in Philadelphia in 1966 from two groups The Percussions and The Monarchs when members from each group were drafted or went on to further their education.
After working in Pennsylvania for a number of years, the group’s self-titled first album produced a string of hits including Stop, Look, Listen to your Heart, You Are Everything and Betcha By Golly Wow.
The success of the first album was phenomenal for that time along with an unheard release of six singles in total.
