THE timeless rags-to-riches story of Dick Whittington and his loyal cat Tom will be played out in Hampshire’s Berry Theatre tomorrow.
The pantomime is one of the Hedge End theatre’s flagship shows in a musical extravaganza hosted by the Performing Arts Company.
The mainly teenage cast is headed by the hero Dick, played by Alfie Potter, who heads off to London with his sidekick puss to seek his fortune.
He is set to win over the beautiful maiden Alice and become Lord Mayor of London.
But evil King Rat and his gang of vermin are waiting in the wings to stop them in their tracks.
The thrilling adventure promises to be packed with spectacular costumes, show-stopping songs, magic, dazzling dance routines and comedy appealing to all ages.
Audiences are encouraged to join in the production packed with laughs, cheers and plenty of hissing and booing.
Fairy Bow Bells will add a sprinkling of fairy dust, while Dame Dolly Dumbling and her idle son Jack will serve up a belly of laughs.
The show runs from 7.30pm tomorrow until Saturday in the theatre in Wildern Lane with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.
