HAMPSHIRE music fans are mourning the death of a rock legend who was a regular on the county’s live scene.
Small Faces and Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan, pictured, died on Wednesday after suffering a stroke in Austin, Texas, as he was preparing to start a North American tour.
The 69-year-old musician played at Winchester’s Railway Inn a number of times, the last time during the summer.
He also played with the Rolling Stones.
Tributes have been paid by stars including Faces frontman Rod Stewart who said: “I’m absolutely devastated.
“Ian McLagan embodied the true spirit of the Faces.”
