ONE of the biggest punk rock acts in history will be bringing his rebellious style to next year's Isle of Wight Festival.

Billy Idol is one of 10 acts announced today for next year's three-day festival at Seaclose Park in Newport.

The white-shock haired rocker - who had hits with Rebel Yell and White Wedding - will be headlining the Big Top on Thursday evening before the main event.

Masters of funk Kool & The Gang will be keeping the party going when they appear on stage during the weekend, which is from June 11 to 14.

Other acts include Irish rockers Kodaline, US rock band Counting Crows, and Surrey Pop-punkers You Me At Six.

Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit, Sheppard, Australian newcomers Jessie Ware, pop singer-songwriter The Struts and rising star Jess Glynne complete the list.
