GET ready for an explosive evening of theatrical indie rock from one of the world’s most recognisable frontmen.

Gerard Way, the charismatic singer of My Chemical Romance, will bring his solo show to the O2 Southampton Guildhall next week.

Gerard, who is going it alone following My Chemical Romance’s split last year, will embrace his Britpop influences over distorted guitar sounds and anthemic choruses.

The eagerly anticipated show is part of a three-date UK tour, with Birmingham and Brixton being the only other European stop-offs, so Hampshire fans are in for a rare treat.

After forming in 2001, My Chemical Romance went on to sell albums by the bucketload with their 2006 effort The Black Parade gaining worldwide acclaim.

Gerard will be supported by No Devotion for the gig, which consists of former members of the Welsh band Lostprophets, and singer Geoff Rickly – formerly of Thursday.

Gerard Way will perform at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on Wednesday, January 21.

Tickets are still on sale at £26.45.
