Turner Sims is looking forward to an audio/visual feast tomorrow, when Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory teams up with sound and video trio Powerplant to present new music.
Led by the dynamo British percussionist Joby Burgess (whose credits include Peter Gabriel, Murray Gold, Peter Maxwell Davies and Eric Whitacre), Powerplant play new music by Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory alongside works by Conlon Nancarrow, Gabriel Prokofiev, Steve Reich and Max de Wardener, in an event that operates at the meeting point between music and installation art.
Famed for their innovative, multi-media performances, the worlds of minimalism and electronica collide as Powerplant combine startling 360-degree sound, live sampling and immersive visuals.
