ONE of India’s greatest musicians will perform at Turner Sims on Tuesday at 8pm( Feb 3).

The sixth generation of an illustrious Bangash lineage, Amjad Ali Khan is a renowned maestro in classical Indian music.

The “Indian string superstar” is a celebrated musician internationally and at home.

In 2001 he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, one of India’s highest civilian awards.

He has toured across the world, including the US, Canada, Australia and Europe, and played at events such as WOMAD Festival and UNESCO, as well as a recent performance at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway.

Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan are virtuosos in their own right, taking up the mantle of their musical lineage and praised for their rhythm and skilled improvisation.
