HE’S sitting at the top of the charts with his debut album Chaos And The Calm.

And he will perform at Portsmouth Pyramids on Tuesday.

A new South coast date has also been announced at the Bournemouth International Centre Solent Hall on October 6.

Chaos and The Calm has won plaudits for its catchy songs full of confessional lyrics and infectious melodies.

Bay has spent the last two years touring and the 24-year-old British musician is fast becoming a worldwide star, having sold out dates in the UK, Europe, Australia and the US.

Current single Hold Back The River, which has reached number two in the charts, is certified gold with accumulative sales of 400,000 copies.

Bay first came on to the music radar earlier this year when he scooped the BRITs Critics’ Choice.

He’s not let it go to his head just yet: “I suppose it means I’m doing something right, doesn’t it?” says Bay.

“I don’t make music for awards, and I don’t think a lot of other people do either, even if some get caught up in that world.“For me, the Critics’ Choice is a great bit of recognition.

“The Brits are a big deal, globally, and at the same time, as a Brit myself, it’s great that my music resonates on home turf. I like the idea of pushing boundaries and doing unexpected things in music, but that’s all ahead of me. For now, I need to make a mark.

“It’s by no means the be-all-and-endall, but it’s very cool,” adds the Hertfordshire-born singer. “I’m not going to turn my nose up at something like that, I’d be mad to.”

Bay is due to appear at many of this year’s festivals, including Isle of Wight, T in the Park, V festival as well as a show at the Somerset House Series, which sold out in record time.
