IT was a sensational song and dance number which became one of the iconic images of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Buck Fizz’s skirt ripping routine is etched in the history of the legendary competition which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary.

And all eyes will be on the stage of Eastleigh’s Concorde Club when formerly Bucks Fizz stars Cheryl Baker, Jay Aston and Mike Nolan re-live the moment that Making Your Mind Up became the Euro favourite more than 30 years ago.

The trio are joined by special guest Bobb McVay in the Paradise Regained Tour which is criss-crossing the nation and calls at The Concorde on April 17 and Shanklin Theatre on May 1.

Bucks Fizz was formed in January 1981 specifically for Eurovision and became one of the most successful and top selling bands of the eighties with worldwide record sales of more than 15 million.

Making Your Mind Up went to number one in nine countries, followed by two other chart toppers, The Land of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies.

The band also had UK Top Ten hits with Now Those Days Are Gone, If You Can’t Stand the Heat, When We Were Young and New Beginning.

Fall outs are not uncommon in the pop world and off stage the band became embroiled in a legal battle over their name.

The group have always had a strong fan base and there was uproar when Bucks Fizz was excluded from the BBC’s event to celebrate 60 years of Eurovision.

It triggered off a worldwide Twitter campaign. But the band believe that the snub could be down to the long standing feud over their name.

The band’s Paradise Regained tour kicked off on April 4 – the date that they won Eurovision in 1981.
