WINCHESTER Discovery Centre is set to welcome BBC Folk Awards winner, Jackie Oates.
During a 10-year career the singer and fiddle-player has won the folk award for best newcomer and best traditional track.
As well as five acclaimed solo albums, Jackie has also collaborated with Alasdair Roberts, Belinda O’Hooley and her brother Jim Moray on material ranging from traditional ballads to eerie lullabies and rich contemporary songs.
Her music has featured on Lauren Lavern’s 6 Music show, and even in Midsomer Murders, earning her fans beyond the folk scene she grew up in.
