SHARON Corr makes her third visit to the festival since leaving The Corrs following an Australian tour.

Speaking to the Daily Echo as she headed off down under she said: "I will be moving from one gig to the next and it's not much fun for them - much as they love the sweeties on the rider and hanging out with the band, every night is in a different city and they are only seven and nine years old."

Was it hard juggling family life and marriage to barrister husband Gavin Bonnar with the career?

"Sometimes we are passing the baton like a relay! It can be a little bit crazy but when I'm home they have me 24 hours a day."

As regards her marriage she says: "We understand what makes each other happy and have respect for each other's careers.

"I come home from the tours happy and then I'm a better mum. Sometimes it's a total juggle and sometimes the balls fall about your head."

Does she enjoy being solo?

"I really do. Obviously I enjoyed working with The Corrs and my family and it was a joint effort but there's a great freedom working on your own, taking a song on a journey that only I would take it on and that creates a different kind of magic.

"In The Corrs there was another kind of magic.

"I'm very much a singer- songwriter. I've been writing songs since I was six years old. Writing songs is very instinctive to me and I love writing with other artists and broadening my horizons.

"I get the most satisfaction out of performing, always. I love performing and I love how songs evolve."

As for the Isle of Wight she said: "I love the festivals as there's a really happy feeling about them and what I do is very organic; there is no backing track and the great thing about The Isle of Wight Festival is it really suits that."
