IT’S an evergreen favourite at Camp Bestival... Spinney Hollow will be back bigger and better than ever.

The ultimate woodlanders’ roost, this year’s brand new Spinney Hollow attractions will include The Little Theatre Waggon and The Woodland Banquet, and an expanded craft village.

Called ‘The Proper Job’, you can go wild, getting closer to nature, as you and the kids make and create with traditional crafts folk using real tools.

Camp Bestival Goes Wild July 30 – August 2 at Lulworth Castle on Dorset’s dramatic Jurassic Coast and organiser Rob da Bank says: “Spinney Hollow is a magical bit of Camp Bestival where the kids (and you!) can test out natural skills with some of the most exciting bespoke workshops and arts and crafts we could find. From fashioning your own Gandalf-style staff to forging incredible metal trinkets, it’s an amazing interactive array of old school technology and ancient ways. Add in the brand new Little Theatre Waggon laying on ace entertainment and fantastic foraged foods at the Woodland Banquet, and you’ve got another unmissable bit of our wildest Camp B yet.”

The Little Theatre Waggon will bring you original, interactive stories, plus tales from TreeCreeper Theatre, Edward Wren and friends. Each afternoon you can take to the stage to have a go at entertaining the good folk of Camp Bestival. You could tell a story, try out a stand-up comedy routine, sing a song, or perform a puppet show. It’s up to you, it’s your “5 minutes of fame”.

The Woodland Banquet is Camp Bestival’s freshest eating experience, offering drop-in lunches and a three-course evening meal for 20 people, with entertainment and tips on foraging, wild food and sourcing local produce.

The Woodland Workshops will feature a real life blacksmith enticing you into Iron Age forgery at his Oak Clan Forge. There will be spoon carving, bow making and much more!

Bookings for the whole of the weekend’s 121 workshops will be taken on the morning of Friday, July 31 at 9 am.
