A HAMPSHIRE beauty spot is hosting a night of big band classics and modern favourites later this month.

Lainston House, near Winchester, welcomes the Salisbury Big Band on Sunday, August 16 for the annual Big Band on the Lawns event.

Held in the grounds of the 17th-century country hotel, pictured below, it will see guests being encouraged to bring a picnic, blankets and chairs to make the most of the afternoon in the beautiful 63-acre surroundings.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the event back this year and can’t wait to hear what unique twists on popular music the Salisbury Big Band will delight us with this time!”

Doors open at 1pm with the concert beginning at 2pm.
