SHE was a member of one of the most successful British pop groups of all time.

Now Ex-Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is out to make it on her own and has been announced as the latest artist to appear at Night Air at the Piers in Bournemouth on August 21.

The singer enjoyed great success with the girl band, earning 20 consecutive top ten hits including four number ones.

And at Boscombe Pier she will perform her debut solo single Threads, due to be released on August 7.

She is joined on the line up by a host of big names from the British pop scene including Britain’s Got Talent judge and singer Alesha Dixon and chart-toppers Scouting for Girls, famous for hits including She’s So Lovely and This Ain’t a Love Song.

Another act just announced for Night Air is Afrobeat star Fuse ODG, who will also perform on August 21.

The Ghanaian UK-based artist, who has collaborated with Sean Paul and Wyclef Jean, has had four top ten singles in the last 18 months including Antenna, Dangerous Love (f.t Sean Paul) and T.I.N.A (f.t Angel), with new single Top Of My Charts, released on September 4.

Daily Echo:

The event is being held over three nights for the first time ever and kicks off on Thursday, August 20 when HM Royal Marines Band Collingwood will start the proceedings with their unique proms performance of sea-inspired music, Power from the Sea.

Organisers hope to raise £10,000 through ticket sale contributions for service charities benefitting from the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF).

And on the Saturday Wave 105 presents Take Off, a journey through 25 years of dance music featuring DJ sets of some of the best club anthems for a big beach party.

Keith Penny, Wave 105 event director, said: “Sarah is a multi-talented artist, having recently acted in a number of productions as well as a motion picture. The festival will mark her re-emergence as a successful solo artist in her own right – hot on the heels of her soon-to-be released new single, Threads.”

He added: “Fuse ODG is a current chart mainstay, frequently collaborating with legendary performers like Wyclef Jean and Sean Paul. We know the audience will love him and his summer sound will be perfect on the beach.

“We’ve got a couple more acts to announce over the next few of weeks, so watch this space.”

The Night Air event is part of the annual Bournemouth Air Festival.
