THE weather failed to dampen the spirits of festival goers as thousands flocked to Hampshire for Victorious Festival.

The Turner brothers opened proceedings on the castle stage with an energy that was just what was needed to get things going.

As the site started to fill up I caught the first part of the set by Just Mille. A young lady with an awesome talent, If she does not go far in the music industry there is something very wrong.

Kill It Kid had the crowd at the Common Stage dancing with some bluesy, soulful rock and a voice that sounded like Jimmy Barnes had come to town.

It was swiftly followed by Laura Mvula belting out soul filled tunes both from her album and some others as well.

Peter Hook and The Light had the crowd singing along to tracks from both New Order and Joy Division and doing a fine job of putting on a show.

The Magic Numbers and The Fratellis held the crowd in place as the rain came down, with the downpour stopping just in time for Primal Scream to play an almost hour long set including all their biggest hits.

Tinie Tempah closed out the night on the castle stage while The Flaming Lips exploded onto the Common Stage.

With dancers in inflatable outfits, confetti filled co2 cannons and all sorts of other things going on they wowed the crowd, but slowed things down towards the end of their hour on stage to leave their audience feeling chilled as they wound their way out of the festival site.

With more to come today (Sun) from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Texas and The Darkness, it’s looking like it will be a very good way to spend a Sunday.
