DEMAND was huge for tickets to see Rod Stewart play in Hampshire as they went on pre-sale this morning.
Legions of fans of the global superstar, best known for hits like Maggie May and Do You Think I’m Sexy, are reporting crashed websites and engaged phone lines as they attempt to snap up priority tickets for the Ageas Bowl concert, on June 10 next year, as well as seven other dates around the UK.
A special link was sent to Hampshire Cricket and fan club members at 9am this morning allowing them to book for the gig ahead of normal sale on Friday.
Thousands snapped up tickets, while others are still waiting in phone and online queues.
Promoters have confirmed they struggled to cope with demand for a short time, but that problems were quickly resolved.
See www.ticketline.co.uk for tickets on Friday from 9am.
