THEY are simply the best!

Two of Hampshire's festivals were judged winners at the UK Festival Awards.

Organisers of Hampshire's Bestival are celebrating after it was judged the Best Major Festival.

And The Isle of Wight Festival walked away with two gongs: 'Best Family Festival' and 'Headline Performance of the Year' with Fleetwood Mac.

This is the third time Bestival has won Best Major Festival since 2010.

"We are utterly, incredibly, massively, fabulously overwhelmed and grateful to announce that Bestival has won Best Major Festival at this year’s UK Festival awards!" they said in a statement.

Rob da Bank said: “Oh crikey, Bestival HQ is in a psychedelic hangover fug today as news sinks in of our win last night at the Festival Awards. To win Best Major Festival in 2015 is testament to our incredibly faithful Bestivalites who come back year in year out, but also the likes of Missy, the Chems and Duran Duran for lighting up the skies, and mostly our tirelessly devoted staff and crew who make it all come together. This awards for all you guys…my mantelpiece is full already! ”

Isle of Wight Festival supremo John Giddings took to Twitter last night to say: thank you to everyone who contributed to @IsleOfWightFest 2015 and helped us win those awards - THANK YOU!! and..thanks to @fleetwoodmac for making it so special."

The short-list for Best Major Festival included: Bestival, Barclay Card Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, Creamfields, Download, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight Festival, Parklife, Reading & Leeds, T In The Park, V Festival, Victorious Festival and Wireless.

Right from the kick off the Summer of Love- themed Bestival 2015 was off to a winner, featuring brilliant headline sets from Missy Elliott, Duran Duran, the Chemical Brothers and Underworld.

And there were other great performances from Boy Better Know, Tame Impala, The Jacksons, Flying Lotus, Skrillex Annie Mac, Future Islands, Duke Dumont, Mark Ronson, Charli XCX, Action Bronson, House of Pain and many more - including the Chuckle Brothers, who created a new paradigm in festival entertainment!

The Bestival team added: "From the beloved Bollywood, The Port and their brand new Slow Motion arena, to Temple Island, the Flower of Fire and sentimental cyborg The Lovebot surveying the Grassy Hill, the whole thing was filled with love and beautiful people that made it the best Bestival ever.
