THE Kooks play their rescheduled Southampton date on Wednesday.

Tickets from the December date, which had to be cancelled after frontman Luke Pritchard fell ill, are still valid at 02 Guildhall Southampton.

2015 was non stop for the band. Having sold out their Listen tour in the UK in 2014, the band hit the road, taking the show to audiences in Australia, Europe, USA and South America.

They have played some major festival dates over the last two summers, including huge performances at Reading/Leeds, Bestival and Glastonbury.

Arriving a good decade after the peak of Brit-pop, the new millennial rockers revived the genre, along with Arctic Monkeys, with some catchy numbers including She Moves In Her Own Way and Ooh La.

Success came easy but it was slightly harder to maintain. Konk, their 2008 sophomore album, entered the U.K. charts at number one but slid down rather quickly, and 2011's Junk of the Heart didn't revive their fortunes.

The band stuck to it, re-emerging in 2014 with Listen, a celebrated record that found them broadening their sound to encompass soul, dance, and new wave while retaining a love of the classic British pop/rock that was at their foundation since their inception.
