SHEFFIELD BAND The Sherlocks, who return to The Joiners tonight, have been announced as one of the six bands BBC Music is taking to the largest music festival in the world.

Radio DJs Huw Stephens, Jo Wiley and Steve Lamacq joined forces on Huw's Radio One show to announce that the unsigned band of brothers, who last week supported The Libertines in Bournemouth, will be one of six acts to fly the flag for new British music in 2016 at the famous SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas that takes place in March.

They then played the band's latest single Last Night which Greg James had also spun earlier in the day on his drive time show.

BBC Introducing are also taking along indie rockers Viola Beach and Estrons plus exciting new singer songwriters Isaac Gracie, Billie Martin and Frances.

The Sherlocks return to The Joiners on St Mary Street, Southampton tonight from 7:30pm. Tickets £7. More at joiners.vticket.co.uk and thesherlocksmusic.co.uk. Last Night by The Sherlocks is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
