AMERICAN punk rockers SWMRS are bringing their first UK tour to The Joiners tomorrow night.

The band from Oakland, California are promoting their latest album Drive North and are already famous for their pacey three minute anthems that draw influences from punk heroes like The Ramones and west coast sounds like the Beach Boys.

The lively four-piece are guitarists and brothers Cole and Max Becker, drummer Joey Armstrong and bassist Seb Mueller.

Incredibly, for such a young band, they’ve already had two other compilations released under their former name, Emily’s Army. Those albums were produced by Joey’s father and legendary Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.

Drive North is the group’s first independent release and has been produced by Fidlar vocalist Zac Carper. It features previous singles Silver Bullet and Figuring It Out.

The band are touring the UK through May including two dates in London. They head home for a set of stateside shows in June before returning for Reading and Leeds festivals in August.

Support at The Joiners comes from up and coming Leeds based punk outfit Brawlers.
