TALENTED teenage singer songwriter Charlotte Lowe from Southampton is to perform in the Young Songwriter 2016 live showcase at Westfield London on Sunday.
A finalist in the Young Songwriter Competition, judged by a star-studded panel including Tom Odell, Rumer and Jamie Theakston, Charlie will perform alongside other top young songwriters from across the UK and Ireland.
The 18-year-old sixth form pupil at Bitterne Park School said: "I’ve been writing songs since I was 12 or 13 but my songs have got better and better. I’d say I was a singer-songwriter at the moment, but career wise – just a songwriter would be really cool.
"I find inspiration everywhere I can, reading books, storylines and characters, people around me, if someone’s going through something I sing about how they’re feeling. It’s a good way to get out all the emotions, I do like imagining another person’s point of view apart from your own."
One of her musical heroes, Tom Odell described her original song Sweet Dreams as having a big uplifting chorus.
The event takes place from 2pm to 5pm.
