HOTLY tipped Southampton band Wild Front are releasing a single a month, starting this Friday with Rico.

The foursome have been busy all summer performing at festivals all over the UK, including their slot opening the main stage at Common People.

Although 80s rock and alternative indie is a love they all share, the boys, who met at Totton College, have very different musical influences. Vocalist and guitarist Jack Williams, who performed as a solo artist for years, supporting the likes of Passenger, KT Tunstall and Gabrielle Aplin, offer his love of folk while drummer Josh Betteridge studied classical musical at Cardiff University. Guitarist Joe Connell, who also produces the band's music from his home studio, and bassist Mike Flowers musical repertoires range from West Coast hip hop to indie folk. It's this exotic mix which creates their distinctive sound.

Wild Front are also set to appear at Southsea Fest tomorrow.

Rico, which was played for the first time on BBC Intro Solent, can be found at soundcloud.com from Friday.
