A BAND tipped to break through in 2017 has announced a major UK tour and is coming to Southampton.
Reading rockers The Amazons will headline at The Joiners in March on the first of eighteen dates in the UK.
The news came in the week that frontman Matt Thomson, guitarist Chris Alderton, bassist Elliot Briggs and drummer Joe Emmett’s latest single Little Something premiered as Annie Mac’s hottest record in the world with the lads joining the Radio One DJ in the studio to talk about their latest tune and future plans.
They’ve also just been named on MTV’s Brand New for 2017 shortlist with the music station predicting great things for the band in what’s set to be their biggest year so far.
The Amazons are veterans of Reading and Leeds festivals and are no strangers to The Joiners having last been there playing alongside Southampton’s Cassava in September.
Earlier this month they made their Guildhall debut supporting US rock legends Jimmy Eat World. With a debut album planned for 2017 it may not be too long before they’re back there with their own headline show.
The Amazons latest single Little Something is out now. They play The Joiners on St Mary Street on Thursday March 2, 2017. Tickets £7. More at joiners.vticket.co.uk.
