THEY only played here last month but Bolton’s rising indie stars Jordan Allen are back in town on Friday for their fourth appearance on the south coast.

Southampton is becoming a popular away fixture for lead singer-guitarist Jordan, guitarist Danny Quin, bassist Kieran Loughran and drummer Nathan Howard after recent gigs here with The Sherlocks and RedFaces.

Now they’re teaming up with another high-flying Sheffield band Sheafs and Southampton singer-songwriter Calum Lintott for a This Feeling club night at The Joiners.

Both northern bands are having a great start to 2017 with Jordan’s outstanding bittersweet but optimistic song 110 Ways to Make Things Better, a tribute to his father and greatest supporter Kevin who recently passed away after a terminal illness, being made a Radio X track of the week.

Along with bouncing numbers Rosie and Imperial Leather Drama the song is from the band’s latest EP Livin’ La Vida Bolton which went down a storm when they played in front of 2,000 people at Manchester’s Albert Hall on the day of its release.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire five-piece Sheafs won this year’s Virgin Radio’s Freshfest competition and their latest single Nobody’s Watching has made the station’s evening playlist for a second week running. They make their London debut next month.

Calum Linott, Jordan Allen and Sheafs play The Joiners on St Mary Street on Friday March 24, tickets £5 adv. at joiners.vticket.co.uk
