JORDAN Allen are one of the new names in music at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

Lead singer-guitarist Jordan, guitarist Danny Quin, bassist Kieran Loughran and drummer Nathan Howard, from Bolton, are already Southampton favourites after a hatrick of appearances here.

Now they’re on the Island’s Jack Rocks This Feeling new music stage at Seaclose Park.

“Our shows down south – at The Joiners, twice at The Talking Heads plus The Wedgewood Rooms - have been mad so it’s great to be able to keep the buzz going at Isle of Wight” says frontman Jordan.

“We’re seeing people know the words to our songs, and coming back the next time with their mates, it’s what we need.”

The band’s biggest show so far was as main support for South Yorkshire pals The Sherlocks at Manchester’s epic 2,000 capacity Albert Hall in February. The former Wesleyan chapel was a sea of bouncing fans when the lads took to the stage.

But the band say their most important gig was days after the Manchester Arena terrorist attack when they closed Manchester Dot to Dot festival at the nearby Ruby Lounge, telling fans they wanted to continue to “celebrate our city and show it was united in the face of terror.”

On the same day as the Albert Hall show the lads released EP Livin’ La Vida Bolton, featuring their outstanding bittersweet but optimistic single 110 Ways to Make Things Better, a tribute to Jordan’s father and greatest supporter Kevin who recently passed away.

“The message behind the song is the most powerful thing for me and having my Dad’s voicemail at the start of the song is something money can’t buy, a lasting memory and tribute.

“It was the last demo he heard before he left us so it’s a really important track and I’m glad so many people have got behind it. Gordon Smart played it on Radio X and afterwards left me a message saying how much he loved the song.”

Another EP track, Rosie, already has a life of its own and Jordan revealed it will be the band’s next single. It joins the belting Helter Skelter, Too Much Too Soon and Imperial Leather Drama on a strong set list that with Jordan’s engaging nature quickly wins fans over at gigs.
