Ben Waters, the musician described by Jools Holland as one of his favourite piano players of all time, brings his big band rock’n’roll experience to Theatre Royal Winchester next Friday.
Ben is the musicians’ musician. His band was chosen by Ray Davies when he curated the Meltdown Festival at the Royal Festival Hall 60th Anniversary. He performed at the Royal Albert Hall alongside Ronnie Wood at the Blues Fest. Jools Holland had him perform at his wedding. He has recently been the ‘B’ in A B C & D, the band which also features Axel Zwingenberger, Charlies Watts and Dave Green.
He has had a remarkable apprenticeship, having worked and recorded with many of the legendary greats of the rock ‘n roll world including The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Womack and Paul Weller.
The Ben Waters Band plays amazing rock ‘n roll, blues and boogie numbers. The nucleus of the 16 piece band is Ben on piano and vocals, chart-topping drummer vocalist Ady Milward, bass player, vocalist, lyricist Richard Hymas and sax players Tom Waters and Adam Davey.
Ben has received the coveted Boisdale Best Boogie Woogie Piano Player Award.
