The Locrian Ensemble bring their festive show Carols by Candlelight to Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday.
In lavish period costume and in front of an evocative candlelit setting, this charismatic ensemble perform favourite carols, Christmas string medleys and some seasonal surprises.
The Locrian Ensemble are firmly established as one of Britain’s most popular touring groups. They have a host of television and film credits to their name and have recently topped the classical charts with their playing for Debbie Wiseman’s BBC TV score of Wolf Hall.
They are joined by the evergreen Jill Washington, West End star soprano of Phantom of the Opera, singing tunes including Handel’s Messiah, White Christmas, 12 Days of Christmas and Walking in the Air.
With shimmering strings and thrilling harp playing, this is the ideal way to get into the true spirit of Christmas.
