SOUTHAMPTON student, Kitty O'Neal will play at the Talking Heads with Mokono and Sansha tomorrow, ahead of her single release on May 21.

Since moving to Southampton, Kitty has been very involved in the music scene, organising Share The Sound Festival, working at Talking Heads and The Art House and supporting local music events. She was also picked to feature on the Southampton Sampler with SoCo Music and has played at festivals like Umbrella Arts Festival, Romsey's Beggars Fair and (coming up) All In The Mind Festival.

Kitty, 24, studies music at the University of Southampton where she will be graduating this year.

"In the time I’ve been here I’ve played regularly at multiple music venues including Talking Heads, The Art House, The 1865, and Turner Sims," she explains. "I’ve been involved in the organisation of Share The Sound Festival and have played at many local events such as Umbrella Arts Festival, Romsey Beggars Fair and Summer In The Square.

"Because of the people I’ve met in this buzzing music community I’ve decided to live here next year with my band, which consists of guitarist, Morgan Rickman, bassist, Frazer Pearce and drummer/producer, Dan Keen, who are all Southampton University music grad's too.

"I am self managed and started a pledge music campaign to raise the funds to record and release my album which I have been doing with my band this year. The album is going to come out on June 18, and my two singles Make It Yours on May 21 and Without A Sound on June 4.

"I write all the songs and have put together the album and tour plans myself."
