BESTIVAL has been crowned the Best Major Festival at the UK Festival Awards despite being one of the youngest contenders at the ninth annual prize-giving.

A triumph for the independent sector, curator and Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank has now won awards at every stage of the festival’s development.

This year’s wildlife themed Bestival, the ninth annual event at Robin Hill Country Park, featured headline performances from Stevie Wonder and Florence and the Machine, main picture.

A colourful array of the year’s best festivals celebrated into the night at London’s Roundhouse following the awards.
