BIRMINGHAM’S exponents of sun drenched hooklines, exuberant grooves and an ever growing array of pop classics, Swim Deep open their biggest headline tour to date in Southampton on Thursday.

The band have been studio bound adding the final flourishes to their much anticipated debut album – slated for a summer 2013 release Austin, Cav, Zac and Higgy will be playing The Joiners.

n FIVE piece rock ’n’ roll band Shotaway launch their mini tour at Southampton’s Roxx tonight.

When guitarists Mark Thompson and Will Porter escaped to Canada with vocalist Sergei Bartlett in 2011, they set out on a musical road trip.

On their return to the UK Serge’s brother, Chase Bartlett, was recruited to play bass and Dickie Preston joined on drums.

Within a short space of time, they took on the polished gnarl of mid-70s rock and roll singers like Jimmy Hall and Daltry with a distinctly localised twist.

After only a handful of chaotic local shows, the Shotaway journey is set to continue and stretch further afield.

Their show tonight will launch a first UK tour. Support comes from Kassassin Street, Pivotal and Mama’s Lips with psychedelia DJ sets between each act.

n IT’S time to enter the Time Tunnel!

Ibiza legend will play a set, revellers can enjoy live electronic from Hampshire favourites Heath:Ward and DJs Paul Sawyer, James Good and Rich Marsh and Ronnie Spiteri will also perform.

Steve Brandwood from Uber-Tone completes the bill.
