DJ JAZZY Jeff, previous music partner of Will Smith and part of the show that defined the 90s, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is coming to Southampton tonight.
In West Philadelphia he was born (and raised) and starting spinning records for family parties at just ten years old.
His production company A Touch of Jazz received huge critical acclaim and proved he was a force to be reckoned with.
As part of the rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, he scored the first ever rap Grammy, racked up a number of multi-platinum albums and made rap music accessible to a pop audience with hits such as Summertime and Boom! Shake the Room.
Independently, Jazzy Jeff is one of the most respected and important DJs in America, and a well-respected legend of his genre.
He is now bringing that status with him to Junk, Southampton. Along with MC Skillz, Envious Mind, Influx, Joe Raygun and k1r3y, the man known as the ‘DJs’ DJ’ will be bringing a true party to Junk.
He recently said of his music: “My whole thing is taking people on that journey that you’re supposed to take as a DJ, no matter what type of music that is.”
His set starts tonight at 10pm.
