• HE was a hero on the Northern Soul circuit and his hits set disco floors alight.

Legendary American soul singer Edwin Starr was responsible for chart toppers like War, 25 Miles, SOS (Stop Her on Sight) Happy Radio and Eye to Eye Contact.

Tragedy struck in 2003 when Starr suffered a heart attack at the age of 61 and died while taking a bath at his home in Bramcote, near Nottingham.

But his rich musical legacy continues through his original seven piece band, The Team which is fronted by his brother, guitarist and singer Angelo Starr.

Angelo toured with his brother for more than 20 years and you can expect disco fever to grip Eastleigh’s Concorde when he steps on stage for a Good Friday special tonight.

Edwin Starr’s Band will also be showcasing other classic Motown and Soul covers like My Girl and Higher & Higher.

Completing the Concorde line-up will be Northern Soul legend Lorraine Silver.
