FURIOUS fans of Tinie Tempah say they were left waiting for hours to see the music star after he turned up late for a set at a Southampton nightclub.

Tinie played a set at Switch nightclub but fans of the rapper were left disappointed.

Some were angry that they were “kicked” out of the VIP area to make way for the 'Pass Out' singer, while others who had arrived at 10pm at the nightclub got fed up with waiting and left before he turned up just after 2am.

Many took to social media to vent their fury, one was Gianluca Ardani whose tweet read: “Tinie Tempah was a real let down, kicked everyone out of VIP so he could walk three meters to the decks.”

Another fan tweeted and said: “Paid for a vip ticket to see Tinie, apparently not allowed to get photo."

Bosses at Switch defended Tinie Tempah, they said he also had to play a set at Halo nightclub in Bournemouth from 12.30am to 1.15am, and that he arrived at Switch just slightly later than they expected and they told fans he would be late.

Ryan Keary from Switch nightclub explained the reason they cleared part of the VIP area.

Mr Keary said: “We had to clear people out of the way behind the roped off area, so people had to move if they were in his pathway, but we did not have to clear the whole VIP area.

“His minders were just being cautious because of who he is and his high profile.”

He went on to praise Tinie for turning up, Mr Keary added: “We were happy with everything that he did, he played a good set and he is a nice guy.”
