SOUTHAMPTON pop star Foxes kicked off her world record attempt to play seven gigs in seven cities in just 12 hours in style.

The Grammy-winning singer whose real name is Louisa Rose Allen played an intimate set at Southampton University Students Union in front of more than 100 fans.

The 26-year-old former Cantell School student spoke of her love of Southampton in her 15-minute set, which saw her play hits from her debut album Glorious, including hits Let Go For Tonight and Youth.

She spoke of how she wrote her hit-single Youth when she was on the train while she was in the process of moving to London and she had mixed emotions about leaving her friends and family in Southampton.

The Guinness World Record attempt is in aid of youth cancer charity Trekstock, and Louisa hopes the attempt will raise more than £20,000 for the charity.

Daily Echo:

Louisa Rose Allen, said:“I’ve always thought it would be amazing to be a Guinness World Records title holder, so this opportunity was just too good to miss.

“The pressure is on though as I’m fitting in all the preparations for the record attempt around studio sessions. It’s really exciting, but of course the main aim is to raise money for Trekstock, which is a fantastic charity.”

She will play gigs today in Brighton, Guildford, Reading, Oxford, High Wycombe and a grande finale set at the House of Vans in London.
