FOLLOWING the success of their debut album and recent social media storm, tickets are set to go on sale for an indie rock group's Southampton date.

The 1975 will stop off in the city in November as part of a UK-wide tour promoting the release of their second album.

Their self-titled debut soared to number one in the UK charts in September 2013 and last year they played Coachella festival.

The group caused chaos among fans on social media last week (May 31-June 1) with a 24 hour disappearance, followed by the announcement they would be touring on Wednesday (June 3).

In an open letter frontman Matt said the group is in production for the full-length record, which signifies the end of an inspiring and challenging time.

He said: "This is the beginning of a new chapter for The 1975. Our new record signifies the start of a new world for us, a more colourful world a less colourful world. We want to play shows we want a real shared experience we want to play huge shows that we never thought were possible we want to play sets at festivals that people talk about for ages cos it was fun and it was music and the weather was perfect and we want to be honest otherwise what’s the point?

"So the best way to start is the way we did before - in venues we have loved and places that feel intimate enough to do a proper new show. With people who really want to be there. Or need to be there in some extreme cases.

"We have decided to start touring again this year, November 2015."

The 1975 will be at Southampton Guildhall on November 21. Pre-sale tickets are released on June 4, with general sale at 9am on June 5.
