BOURNEMOUTH Symphony Orchestra perform with Inspiration Choir Southampton on Sunday, July 19.

The evening will see them performing powerful songs of stage and screen at Southampton 02 Guildhall at 4pm.

With the formidable might of the full BSO at the choir’s backs, this promises to be a spine-tingling musical experience.

Entitled Do You Hear the People Sing? the concert will include songs from famous musicals such as Phantom of the Opera and My Fair Lady, and popular songs including Bohemian Rhapsody and Bridge Over Troubled Water.

TV themes are also given a voice, with Blackadder and Red Dwarf having been specially arranged for the choir.

West End conductor Pete Harrison is the Musical Director for Inspiration Southampton, and has been leading the choir through rehearsals this term leading to this summer concert.

Three times a year the new Southampton choir will perform with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The choir is generously supported by David and Jill Peters, Inspiration Southampton principal patrons.

The next rehearsal term starts in September, with rehearsals on Wednesday nights, leading up to the second concert on Sunday December 20.
