BEL ESPRIT have major endorsement from a British indie icon and now the Hampshire band are set to release their EP Lose My Mind.

They have quickly made waves since forming and last year the Southampton quartet signed to 25 Hour Convenience – the record label run by Libertines drummer Gary Powell.

Now they have released their debut music video for the title track of the EP, out Friday, October 2, a track that has amounted to over 93,000 plays on SoundCloud.

Bel Esprit are a regular fixture in the city’s music scene and have supported the likes of Childhood, The Struts, To Kill a King, and Nothing But Thieves.

Their upcoming tour dates include Lennons in Southampton on October 3.

Guitarist Fahad Siddiqui told Daily Echo online: “The scene is the best it’s been for years. There are a lot of great bands coming out of Southampton and it’s a great environment to be in because it keeps everyone progressing together."

Taking their name from a monetary fund set up for legendary poet T.S. Eliot, and drawing influence from the likes of The Velvet Underground, as well as Andy Warhol’s Factory scene, Bel Esprit play suave, modern indie/alternative rock.

Infectious melodies and effortlessly cool vocals define the music of the Southampton-based four-piece, who were asked to perform personally by Rob Da Bank at Bestival’s first Common People festival in their hometown of Southampton.

Rob said of the band: “Bel Esprit blew me away the first time I saw them live and I’ve been a fan since. They've got highly addictive hooks, phenomenal playing and great tunes.”

After a summer of festivals, the band are looking forward to the release of the EP featuring previously released tracks Island and Lose My Mind, the latter of which has racked up 93,000 SoundCloud plays to date.
