HIP hop superstar Missy Elliott will bring the curtain down on a spectacular 2015 festival season on Sunday.

Bestival, the traditional end to the summer, is her only European date this year and her first UK performance in nine years.

Missy joins Underworld, Duran Duran and the Chemical Brothers to complete 2015 headliners.

A host of other acts include retro gems Duran Duran and The Jacksons, as well as pop upstart Charli XCX and legendary rapper Neneh Cherry.

As always at Bestival, which runs at the Isle of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park all weekend, there’s much more than music.

The new Slow Motion area is a festival within a festival focusing on energising pursuits. Bestival’s record breaking disco ball returns, there’s an eight metre tall automaton called the Love-Bot and, in another new area called the Commune, there will be a huge pyrotechnic sculpture called the Flower of Fire.

Comedy highlights include Abandoman, Andrew Maxwell, The Noise Next Door, Daniel Sloss and Impractical Jokers’ Joel Dommett and Paul McCaffrey and there’s all manner of off the wall entertainment at brand new Carnivale, featuring a central pirate ship stage.

The Port attracts the biggest name DJs from around the globe, including pop genius Mark Ronson and Annie Mac Presents with a series of brilliant back to back pairings and revellers can take in a whole host of new music at the Invaders of the Future stage.

  • ANOTHER brilliant brand new Bestival attraction for 2015 is Carnivale!

Carnivale is situated smack bang in the wonderland that is the Wishing Tree Field.

Featuring a huge pirate ship stage with a cast of oddball performers and dancers providing mind-bending entertainment all weekend long, prepare to be bowled over by all manner of amusements, from morning shakedowns and eye-catching exploits, to the Carnival Day Parade and incredible Night Parades.

Plus, there’s an inviting workshop tent where you can get involved in the madness, learning mysterious carnival arts and making your own costumes.

An enchanted hive of the unanticipated, Shademakers menagerie of wild and wonderful creations will scamper through the crowds, as Commedia Dell’Arte inspired pirates romp from the rigging and acrobatic monkeys scale the heights, as carnival music from around the world, sea shanties and drums fill the air.

  • BACK with Bestival’s epicentre of rave behaviour is The Port.

From amazing pyromaniacs and breath-taking aerial performances, to a staggering DJ line-up that will keep you reaching for those brain-melting lasers all weekend long, it is an unmissable destination.

Daily Echo:

Making his return to Bestival, the mighty Skrillex will be ramping up the late night action on Sunday.

A trailblazer of electronic dance music, he’s a six-time Grammy award winner, and a global icon.

He might know a thing or two about ruling the pop charts but Mark Ronson is also a true master with a pair of turntables.

With Annie Mac taking the reins on Saturday, it's a special kind of dance stage.

  • BACK by popular demand, Bestival's world record breaking Disco Ball will take pride of place of place in the Wishing Tree field for Bestival’s Summer of Love.

Daily Echo:

Standing three storeys high at 10.33 metres and covered in two and half thousand mirrored tiles, the Disco Ball is world renowned and truly a sight to behold.
