AMY - One of the most talked about documentary films of the year will be screened at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, Havant next week.

Amy chronicles the turbulent short life of Amy Winehouse. Directed by Asif Kapadia, this film features archive footage and unheard tracks ( Cert U).

The screening comes as The Spring introduces Film Fridays, a new series of monthly film documentary screenings.

These will be shown in the Langstone Room thanks to new screening equipment provided by the British Film Institute’s Neighbourhood Cinema Fund.

The Spring has tried to make the experience even better with some new chairs in the Langstone Room. A contribution towards the new seating was kindly made in memory of Josie Harper, who loved The Spring.

Each film screening will begin with a short introduction and there will be a chance to stay around afterwards for an informal post-screening discussion.

Individual Film Fridays cost: £6.50, £5.85 concessions (does not include refreshments).

Centre Director Sophie Fullerlove said: “We are so grateful to the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Fund for giving us this opportunity to extend our film screenings offer. Film Fridays promise to be an intimate experience for those who enjoy the documentary style of film making and want to discuss them in more detail”

Other films planned will be: How the Change the World on Friday March 4 and Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief on Friday April 1.
