IT'S a chance to work alongside Britain's most celebrated choirmaster.

Marchwood Military Wives Choir are looking for a new musical director and the role includes regular workshops with Gareth Malone.

The singers performed at a host of Remembrance and Christmas events towards the end of last year and requests are stacking up for carnivals and fetes this summer.

Members have previously recorded with The Choir star Gareth Malone and other Military Wives Choirs and even sung at Buckingham Palace.

They regularly perform with Marchwood Orchestra and Marchwood Prelude Orchestra and entertain the residents at various Hampshire care homes.

But they need guidance from a professional, following the departure of their previous musical director in December.

Committee member Tessa Reid said: "We're keen to learn. We work hard, but we have fun. We want our performances to be professional, but at the same time we enjoy ourselves.

"We want to continue with these fantastic events, but we're struggling with no-one to teach us."

The paid role would suit a vocal coach who is also able to play piano and take part in outside events.

Marchwood Miltary Wives Choir meet on Tuesdays at the Mulberry Centre between 7pm and 9pm.
