SOUTHAMPTON indie-pop rockers The Lost Boys release their latest single next month ahead of appearing at one of the South’s newest entertainment venues.

The band’s new song, China in the Sink, is out on Bank Holiday Monday only days before they play at The Hangar at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on Friday May 6 with fellow city favourites The Novatones.

Lead singer-songwriter Daniel Ash, bassist James Millar, guitarist Shaun Ashley, drummer Jason Daniels and keys player Joel Doherty are preparing for a packed summer.

They’ve already been confirmed for Blissfields festival near Winchester on July 1-2 and have just revealed news of a headline London gig at The Hope and Anchor in Islington on May 28 as well as touring the country.

“Our new song is about age-old rivalries between bands from different towns” frontman Daniel told the Daily Echo.

“The new tunes, which include a B-side called Child’s Play, still sound like us, but there’s definitely more of an edge now.”

“We’ll also be releasing the single as a limited edition 7 inch vinyl, the first 150 of which will come with a badge and lyric sheet,” he added.

As previously revealed,The Lost Boys recorded the songs at Paul Weller’s Black Barn studio in Surrey. They get on famously with the ex-Jam singer and have supported him at big shows at the Hammersmith Apollo and London’s legendary 100 Club.

Last year they also played with The Buzzcocks at Southampton’s Engine Rooms and Britpop heroes The Bluetones at Portsmouth’s Pyramids.

China in the Sink by The Lost Boys is out on May 1 and available now to pre order on ITunes and from the band’s website.
