TEESIDE'S triumphant trio the Young’Uns bring award-winning folk to New Milton’s Forest Arts Centre tonight.

Sean Cooney, David Eagle and Michael Hughes formed the Young’Uns 12 years ago and have gone on to carve their own niche in the word of folk, performing a cappella or subtly accompanied songs that tell it how it is alongside traditional songs from their native North-East and further afield.

Renowned for their pitch-perfect harmonies and rapid-fire humour, the Young’uns live shows are always engaging and frequently heart-warming. They seamlessly switch from beautiful ballads to brilliant banter, whilst always maintaining the tradition of social commentary.

They have featured in live sessions and documentaries on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4, as well as countless sell-out shows and main stage festival appearances throughout the UK and abroad.

Just two years after giving up their day jobs, 2015 saw the Young’Uns release their third studio album Another Man’s Ground and rack up a series of accolades and awards, including Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Best Group at the FATEA Awards, Best Live Act at the Spiral Earth Awards and listed as one of MOJO magazine’s Best Album.

Earlier this year, they received another nomination for Best Group at the 2016 BBC Folk Awards.
