A TALENTED Texan singer songwriter includes a free date at a Southampton pub on her UK tour this summer.

Barbara Nesbitt will play songs from her latest album Almost Home, tracks from her back catalogue and a selection of new material at The Platform Tavern on Thursday June 30.

Nesbitt has found her home in music. Her life is reflected in the songs she writes which are about the ways, large and small, we abandon and seek that elusive safety of home.

She moves to Austin Texas in 2011 and has quickly become a fixture in the world renowned music scene there. She helped form the band, The Whiskey Sisters, who have recorded, toured internationally and gained much acclaim and were placed in the Austin Music Awards in the top ten acoustic guitar players, top three singers, and top three songwriters.

Her third solo album features such talents as, Jeff Berkley, Marcia Claire, Mike Spurgat, Bill Coomes, Bukka Allen, Dennis Caplinger, Kim DesChamps, and Kyle Clayton.

Currently, Nesbitt is dividing her time between The Whiskey Sisters, Tim Flannery and The Lunatic Fringe, as well as her own music.

Showtime is 7pm.
