THE three surviving members of Fotheringay - Jerry Donahue, Gerry Conway and Pat Donaldson - will be on stage at The Talking Heads in Southampton on Thursday for their first series of dates since 1971.

The original members are joined by Kathryn Roberts, Sally Barker and P J Wright and will perform classic Fotheringay songs such as Nothing More, Banks of the Nile, Knights Of the Road and Gypsy Davey during a set of almost two hours.

Tour reviews so far say Jerry Donahue demonstrates why fellow guitarists put him on a pedestal. Kathryn Robert's vocal qualities are well known. With husband Sean Lakeman she forms one of modern folk music's most dynamic pairings.

As for Sally Barker, folk fans knew she could sing well before she reduced Sir Tom Jones to a blubbering wreck on The Voice.

Tickets are £20 in advance from thetalkingheads.co.uk
